THE SINGLE FIN SOUL PROJECT

A couple of weeks ago my Portuguese friend asked me if I'd be willing to cooperate with them at their cool and fairly new Single Fin Soul project. Of course I was immediately stoked on the idea of writing short articles for their web page - mainly regarding the world of female surfing and all that comes with it. It's only fair to give it a little shout out and present the project to you, dear readers.

Single Fin Soul is all about the times when the sea was just the sea and every single wave was an adventure. There were no competitions, no complications, only pure fun and endless excitement. The philosophy was quite simple back then: nothing else was important but the present moment. The whole project is a reminiscence of the past, a story about how it all started: with simplicity of one single fin. To explain this a little more to those unfamiliar with surfing; fins on a surfing board have a huge impact on the feel, stability, drive and manoeuvrability of a surfboard, the factors that can completely alter the way you experience surfing. The idea behind the fins on any sea vehicle is to provide stability and control. Single fins are typical for classical longboards. Single fin boards enable a cleaner, a more gliding-oriented surfing style compared to the multi-fin longboards that are more manoeuvre-oriented.

Single Fin Soul is dedicated to those who do not want to forget their first board, first wave, the essence of a simple smile. It's a lifestyle, a way of facing the future, uncluttered and simple. I'm so happy that I can be a part of an open-minded, free-spirited team like this.

Keep it simple! One fin, one soul.

  7. Congrats on this project you surf bunny! How exciting and truly can't wait to read your articles. I don't surf, in fact I can't even stay afloat on a damn board for more than a few seconds so I have ENORMOUS respect for surfers. It's damn hard and definitely an art to master.

    Have a wonderful week darling,
