ILLUSTRATED INTERVIEW WITH EMMANUELLE LY FROM DAILY SKECTH

Emmanuelle LY is a young French illustrator who started a fun little project (well, it's not that little anymore) back in 2012. It's called the Daily Sketch Crossing project and it entails posting a sketch on her blog on a daily basis. Illustration has been her passion since her childhood, when she used to draw handmade fashion catalogs, greeting cards, bookmarks and other DIY stuff with her sister. She's now mixing portraits, iconography, typography and animated GIFs, all in black and white and mostly using black ink, watercolors, gouache, pencil and charcoal. The sketches are often inspired by songs, celebrities, movies and some are connected with previous sketches. Get to know Emmanuelle a bit better through her meticulous and fun illustrated answers.

What does your job look like?

What inspires your work the most?

If you would travel to a deserted island, which 3 things would you take with you?

If you could switch lives with someone, who would that be?

What's your favorite dessert?

What makes you smile the most?

Thanks so much, Emmanuelle! You are the best.
